Matt Parkinson took two wickets, including that of his twin brother Callum, to mark his first England call-up as Division Two champions Lancashire bowled Leicestershire out for just 155.Parkinson has been named in both the Test and T20 parties to travel to New Zealand ahead of the series this winter, and dismissed his twin for the first time in a first XI game to press home Lancashire’s advantage.Seamer Richard Gleeson, arguably one of Lancashire’s unsung heroes this season, picked up first-class best figures of 6 for 43, which means Gleeson now has 44 Championship wickets in nine matches played, at an average of less than 22. Only Graham Onions, rested for this game, has more, with 45 in ten matches played.Having exercised the away team’s prerogative to bowl first, Lancashire’s reward was almost immediate, as Foxes’ captain Paul Horton, one of several former Lancashire players now with Leicestershire edged his first delivery from Gleeson straight to Keaton Jennings at first slip.Fellow opener Hassan Azad had made nine, passing 1100 Championship runs for the season in the process, before he pushed a low catch back to bowler Gleeson, and the former Northants seamer struck for the third time when Colin Ackermann edged low to Liam Livingstone at second slip, reducing the Foxes to 16 for 3.Gleeson should have had a fourth victim when George Rhodes, driving, edged to fourth slip before he had scored, but Rob Jones could not hold the head-high chance. Instead it was Tom Bailey, in the tenth over of an impressive opening spell, who picked up his first wicket when Mark Cosgrove tried to cut a wide but in-swinging delivery and succeeded only in edging the ball into his stumps.Rhodes saw Leicestershire through to lunch without further loss, but was bowled through the gate by Gleeson in the first over after the interval. Harry Swindells also lost his off-stump to the same bowler soon afterwards, to reduce the Foxes to 82 for 6.Harry Dearden and Callum Parkinson added 36 for the sixth wicket, but Dearden, on 30, also went bowled, driving outside a delivery from Matt Parkinson that spun back to hit the stumps, and shortly before tea Ben Mike was caught by Parkinson off the top edge at backward square off Livingstone.Parkinson pinned his twin leg before shortly after tea before Gleeson bowled Dieter Klein to finish the innings.Leicestershire did hit back. Chris Wright bowled Jennings with an inswinger that took the inside edge of the bat and hit leg stump – Jennings was also out first ball in the single innings he played against Leicestershire at Aigburth earlier in the season – but bad light and rain then saw play end with 24 overs remaining to be bowled.

Andy Flower has been named as head coach of Maratha Arabians in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10, days after ending a 12-year association with the ECB.Flower left his role as technical director in the England set-up on Saturday, and had hinted that he was more likely to take up roles on the franchise circuit than return to international cricket. There had been speculation that he would head to the IPL, but this is his first coaching role since leaving the ECB.”I have just come off a tremendous run with English cricket and am now looking ahead to the future with hope,” Flower said.”Anything that is new and is innovative like T10 cricket always has an automatic appeal. From a coaching perspective it presents new challenges to test yourself against in a world-class environment.”Flower departed the ECB after 12 years in the national team set-up. He started out as Peter Moores’ assistant in 2007, before taking over in 2009. His reign saw England win their first men’s ICC world tournament – the 2010 World T20 – as well as away Test series in India and Australia, as England rose to become the ICC’s No.1-ranked Test team. After the 2013-14 Ashes, he took up a role as technical director, which involved overseeing the Lions side.The league also announced that the Arabians had retained captain Dwayne Bravo, along with Lasith Malinga and Afghanistan pair Hazratullah Zazai and Najibullah Zadran. They have also signed Chris Lynn as an ‘icon player’ ahead of Wednesday’s player draft.The Arabians reached the semi-finals last season, finishing fourth after losing to Bengal Tigers in the third-place playoff.The league has moved to Abu Dhabi from Sharjah this season, and starts on November 15.

In a January in which a punitive £100million was spent by Premiership clubs, Spurs were one of the few sides eager to open their chequebooks. The near-£27m deal for Genoa's Radu Dragusin represented the highest single move by an English team during the window and showed Spurs' newfound prowess in the transfer world.
The Lilywhites' excellent January was capped off by the arrival of Lucas Begvall. Spurs fought off stiff competition from Barcelona for the 18-year-old's signature and with the youngster impressing in his native Sweden, the deal looks to have been a smart bit of business from Levy and co.
The winter window also saw Timo Werner return to London on loan until the end of the season. Whilst the German had become something of a punchline during his time at Chelsea, impressive displays in North London have made a permanent move almost a certainty this summer.
With Levy now seemingly leading the pack for Premier League spending, there is no surprise that Spurs are set for a big summer as they look to seal a target they've had their eyes on for some time.
Spurs ready approach for Szymanski
Whilst the news of interest in the player is nothing new, reports out of Turkey are claiming that Spurs are now preparing a bid for Fenerbahçe star Sebastian Szymanski. Ange Postecoglou had reportedly pushed for the deal to be done in January with the Australian dispatching scouts to watch the forward in action.
Despite their longstanding interest in the winger/attacking midifleder, Spurs will reportedly have to fight off European competition for his signature. It is claimed that AC Milan and Napoli are eager to get a deal done for the player, giving Levy yet another battle for a signing.
Fenerbahçe got something of a steal for Syzmanski when they signed him from Dynamo Moscow for just £8.3million last summer. Syzmanski's stats for this season has seen the 24-year-old provide 26 direct goal contributions in just 46 games (12 goals and 14 assists), meaning that the Turkish giants will be in for a massive windfall if the Polish international is to leave this summer.
The midfielder is one of his home country's highest regarded talents, with even the English media picking up on his quality. The Guardian branded Syzmanski as "a versatile and hard-working playmaker who is very much seen as a future Poland regular".

Whilst a concrete asking price is yet to be revealed, it has been suggested that Fenerbahçe would want around £30million for the attacking midfielder. Given Spurs' strong financial standing and the clear pedigree that Syzmanski possesses, it would represent good business to secure a player who only looks to be getting better each season.

Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque is pleased that his side is getting to play more Test matches courtesy the World Test Championship (WTC).Bangladesh are slated to play Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand next year as part of the 2019-2021 cycle, and a Test each against Zimbabwe and Ireland outside of it.It is a jump from the number of Test matches that they were previously playing, which had prompted many complaints from administrators, players and coaches about the long gaps between fixtures. Mominul, who is treated as a Test specialist and therefore has to deal with long breaks between international games, said that the gulf between Bangladesh and India in the longest format was mainly a result of the difference in the number of matches the two teams play.”We are happy,” Mominul said after Bangladesh’s innings defeat in Indore. “The WTC is a huge opportunity for those who play Tests. It is a huge competition. If the ICC didn’t arrange this competition, we wouldn’t get many Tests. It will be better for everyone.”We have to play a lot of Test matches. If you see in the last seven months, we have played only two Tests. We don’t play Tests like other teams. I think it is the main difference [between the two sides].”Pressed for answers about Bangladesh’s defeat in Indore, where their batsmen wilted under the pressure exerted by the “No. 1 bowling attack in the world”, Mominul said that the opening batsmen could have made life a little easier for the rest of the line-up had they played out the first hour.”The bowling attack was challenging. Ben Johnson, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and young keeper Joseph Anang are all on course to leave West Ham when their deals run out, while the likes of Michail Antonio, Vladimir Coufal and Divin Mubama are in the same boat but have the option to extend by a further year.
Alongside the aforementioned, both Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma are being linked with moves to the Middle East, which makes the defensive duo candidates for the West Ham chopping block as well.

Aguerd's inconsistency has been a real cause for concern for manager David Moyes, with the Morocco international prone to a fatal in-game error on more than one occasion.
While the likes of Aguerd, Zouma and Moyes' out-of-contract crop appear fairly dispensable, the same certainly cannot be said for midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
The Brazil international has been phenomenal this campaign, standing among West Ham's best-performing players and attracting serious interest from Man City as a result.

Paqueta was being chased by Pep Guardiola last summer, but his involvement in betting allegations meant City pulled the plug on a deal.
"Following the recent betting-related allegations made against Lucas Paqueta, Manchester City are now internally discussing the Brazilian’s potential transfer," Fabrizio Romano wrote in his CaughtOffside Substack last year.
"The deal between Manchester City and West Ham is currently off. We can say that is 99% collapsed and we’re just waiting for the final communication, but this is the feeling. The situation is very clear."
The former Lyon star, it is believed, still firmly has his sights on a move to Eastlands.
Paqueta "deeply unhappy" over failed Man City move
Paqueta has been left "deeply unhappy" over his failed switch, according to Football Insider and journalist Wayne Veysey.
It is also the case that Paqueta remains very keen on a transfer to Man City, and West Ham are fully expecting the Blues to make a move for the player again.
Losing the South American would be a hammer blow for Moyes or any prospective new Irons coach next season.
“He’s incredible, honestly, he’s absolutely incredible,” said former captainDeclan Rice.
“It’s obviously taken him a while to settle into the Premier League and into the training ground, moving his family over. I think now you’re seeing the real Lucas. Some of the stuff he does, even in training, it’s just mind-boggling how good he is.”
