Abdul Razzaq, the Pakistan allrounder, has said Pakistan must be cautious in their policy of picking young players and should ensure only those cricketers with real talent are given a chance. In the last two years, Pakistan have handed 11 different players Test debuts, while another five players have earned their first ODI cap. Razzaq said that rebuilding was necessary, but the selectors should be sure the players they back can be successful at international level.”Bringing in young players is a good move and that is an ongoing process,” Razzaq told ESPNcricinfo. “But only talented players, who are tough and have superb class, should be called up.”Pakistan experimented on their recent tour of Zimbabwe and have a couple of young, untested fast bowlers – Mohammad Talha and Mohammad Khalil – in their squad for the Tests in Bangladesh. Razzaq, though, said players should not only be tried against low-profile opposition. “I remember when I debuted in 1996 my seniors gave me a benchmark, and said I had to prove my ability by performing against teams like Australia, South Africa and England. All the newcomers should be tough enough to face that kind of opposition in order to be prosperous and play at least ten years of cricket.”Razzaq, who is set to depart for Australia to play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, said his next aim in international cricket was to play in the 2012 World Twenty20.He said he would concentrate on the shorter formats of the game. “I still have some cricket left in me and the upcoming World Twenty20 is what I am focussing on. Test cricket is behind me; it’s too late for a comeback. I want to make a final call on that but it’s a decision that needs to be taken with the PCB in the loop.”

Shaun Marsh showed little signs of his back trouble as he smashed an unbeaten 99 off 52 balls in Perth Scorchers’ emphatic eight-wicket win, in pursuit of Melbourne Renegades’ imposing total of 3 for 188. The innings should state his case for a Test return against India on Boxing Day.Marsh hit nine fours and five sixes to help the visitors home with four balls to spare, in the tightest game of the tournament so far.The attention was on Marsh to prove he was Test ready, though he was playing a Twenty20 game. He spent all 39.2 overs in the field, fielding without any trouble, before playing one of the best innings of the tournament to date.At times, he was starved of the strike as Herschelle Gibbs peeled off a majestic 57 in their opening stand of 95. Marsh sprinted between the wickets with purpose. His running with his younger brother Mitchell stood out. But most importantly, he handled the raw pace of both Shaun Tait and Shane Harwood, and the penetrative leg-spin of Shahid Afridi, with equal aplomb. Marsh ended the night with a straight six off Abdul Razzaq to seal the match.The Renegades did not help their cause with some sloppy fielding and strange tactics in their defence of what seemed a winning total.The captain Andrew McDonald dropped Gibbs on 14 in the third over, and substitute Meyrick Buchanan spilled Marsh on 39. Buchanan made matters worse by parrying the ball over the rope for six. McDonald’s field settings were questionable though. Gibbs’ strong off-side play is well known, but the Renegades strangely played to his strengths as he hit 18 off a Razzaq over.McDonald got a lucky break when Gibbs holed out to the only man at the cover rope when the South African was in total command. Mitchell Marsh joined his brother and the pair took on the fielders with some audacious running. The younger Marsh should have been run out in the twelfth over but Graham Manou failed to handle a strong return from long-on cleanly.McDonald also neglected to bowl the left-arm spinner Aaron Heal. The decision was strange enough given Heal’s impressive record in this format, but even stranger given the Scorchers’ two most successful bowlers in the match were the left-arm duo of Michael Beer, and Brad Hogg. The pair collected 3 for 50 from their combined eight overs when their team-mates all conceded more than nine-an-over.The Renegades would have thought they were in a strong position after winning the toss and setting 188. The openers, McDonald and Aaron Finch blasted 91 from 64 balls. Finch was sent to hospital with a suspected broken rib after being struck by Ben Edmondson, but he still managed 49 from 40. McDonald’s 50 from 33 was an innings of great class. Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Reardon, and Razzaq clubbed six sixes between them to progress to an imposing total. Maxwell launched three in a row off Marcus North’s offspinners.But in the end Shaun Marsh stole the show, proving why he is regarded in some circles as Australia’s best batsman in all formats.
O São Paulo chegou a um acordo com o Sport e comprará 40% dos direitos econômicos do meia Everton Felipe, de 21 anos, por R$ 6 milhões pagos em duas parcelas e mais o repasse do empréstimo do atacante Morato ao clube pernambucano até o fim do ano.
O Tricolor pagará metade do valor agora e a outra metade em janeiro. O Sport manterá 5% dos direitos econômicos, enquanto o restante fica dividido da seguinte forma: 35% a um grupo de empresários e 20% ao próprio atleta.
– Foi uma negociação satisfatória para todos. O atleta tinha o desejo de jogar no São Paulo e o Sport conseguiu costurar um bom acordo. A expectativa é de que o Everton já esteja treinando amanhã (quarta) com sua nova equipe – afirmou ao L! o empresário Marineu Barros, agente do novo reforço do São Paulo.
Como o São Paulo não aceitou pagar o valor à vista, o Sport pediu a inclusão do atacante Morato na negociação. Ele está emprestado pelo Ituano ao Tricolor até dezembro de 2018 e terá este empréstimo repassado aos pernambucanos. O São Paulo, que já é dono de 20% dos direitos do jogador, terá a opção de comprar mais uma fatia para tê-lo de volta em 2019.

Everton Felipe já havia avisado à diretoria do Leão sobre seu desejo de se transferir para o São Paulo, onde irá reencontrar Diego Souza, de quem era bastante próximo no clube pernambucano até o fim do ano passado. A vontade do jogador facilitou as negociações para o Tricolor.
Cria da base do Sport, Everton fez 124 partidas e oito gols com a camisa rubro-negra. Ele recuperou-se recentemente de uma grave lesão no joelho, e por isso disputou apenas oito jogos nesta temporada, sendo seis no Brasileirão – o limite para se transferir a outro clube da Série A. No São Paulo, é visto como um bom reserva imediato para Nenê no meio de campo.
Morato também vem de lesão grave no joelho e soma poucos minutos na temporada – até por isso, topou a transferência com entusiasmo. Ele entrou em campo apenas duas vezes em 2018: disputou os minutos finais do jogo de ida da semifinal do Paulistão, contra o Corinthians, e foi titular em um jogo contra o Avaí pelo Brasileirão de Aspirantes, com a equipe sub-23 do clube. Antes de se lesionar, havia jogado só uma vez – e bem -, contra o Cruzeiro, pela Copa do Brasil de 2017, pouco depois de chegar ao clube.
Everton Felipe chegará ao Tricolor já nesta semana para assinar contrato. O mesmo se aplica a Morato, que viajará ao Recife nas próximas horas. Se não houver nenhuma cláusula de impedimento nos contratos, ambos terão chance de estrear justamente em um Sport x São Paulo, às 16h de domingo, na Ilha do Retiro.
